Continuing Chapter Fallen Angel, Remembering the Past

“It feels like the atmosphere in the streets is a little boisterous.” “To me, any place is noisy as long as there are people.”
“It seems like the goods from the West are flowing into this city directly. Not just Madam Din Dem Urs, the gazes of
many powerful clans and countries have focused on Noza Quarters and this Welland Isa.”
Ugugugu……ufu ufu?
Urushihara, Lailah and Kinanah, who had just missed Libicocco as they returned to Ente Isla, were currently at the southern port city of the Northern Continent, Welland Isa.
From the scale of the city, Welland Isa, which was twice as big compared to the Goat Enclosure, was just like its name suggested, part of the territory of the Welland Clan.
This was the largest trading harbour in the Northern Continent, and the territory of the Welland Clan was also located in the wide plains which were rare in the Northern Continent, so many people and goods would pass through here.
In the corner of the harbour where a comfortable sea breeze blew, in a closed door room on the second floor of a restaurant targeted at the richer customer crowd.
In his human form, Farfarello was dressed in strangely high quality clothes, and he led Lailah and the rest to seats where they could clear see the harbour to eat.
“I thought we are going to have the demons migrate to the Goat’s Enclosure. It won’t take much time to go from here
to the Demon Fortress, right?” “However, we are unable to do so.”
Urushihara’s analysis were usually correct, but Farfarello, whose face gave others the impression that he was a serious person despite the fact that his clothes were borrowed from some clan in the Northern Continent, knitted his human form eyebrows together and said,
“Actually, the Advanced Troop from the Church Knights have arrived in Welland Isla.” “Eh? Wouldn’t that cause problems?”
Lailah said in surprise, but Farfarello waved his hand in a reassuring manner.
“Just like what I said before, that is just an Advance Troop of one hundred people. They only came here to scout first to enable the large troop to move smoothly.”
“Oh? Why did they come to Welland Isa? I thought they would land in the Central Continent from Wez Quarters in the
West.”
“The parts of the Wez Quarters damaged by Lord Lucifer have not completed their restorations, so it is unable to support the long term stay of a large number of Church Knights.”
“Farfarello, remember to report this to the Demon King and Alsiel. Because I worked hard before, it has become useful
now, right? This is important.” “Y, yes.”
Farfarello was surprised by the suddenly agitated Urushihara, but he still started to explain the plans of Emerada and Lumark which he had heard from Din Dem Urs in a simple manner.
“Simply put, even if the Church Knights know that the goods will be stuck in a huge jam, they still had to rely on the
Northern Continent for many transport routes.”
“I heard that this transport jam will gradually ease over time, but Emerada Etuva and Din Dem Urs seem to be planning
to obstruct them in other areas.”
“Oh. I don’t know what method they’re using, but Lidem is amazing after all.”
Lailah expressed her thoughts distractedly.
“Lailah, your comments just now sound really idiotic.”
Urushihara said in annoyance, then leaned towards the harbour slightly.
“The flags of the Church and Keyrinz are hanging on that ship, which means it is a country from Ramuwaz. Since a ship from Ramuwaz is here, this means that marine transport and the flow of goods are in a deadlock.”
In the corner of the harbour, there was a forbidding looking navy warship, Urushihara stared at that warship and said,
“It looks like it is just scaring the people around it, but it’s not really doing anything. Or more like, they are pretending to work. Farfarello.”
“Yes.”
“The negotiation between Din Dem Urs and the Church Knights aren’t going smoothly at all, right?” “You are correct.”
Farfarello said with a sly grin.
“I consider myself knowledgeable of human society, but politics is really difficult.” “Lucifer, that’s amazing, you can tell with one look?”
Urushihara could analyse the situation of the world just by looking at one warship, causing Lailah to feel some admiration.
“With regards to ?not working?, I am an expert in various ways.”
Urushihara’s answer which made people unsure of whether they should admire him or not caused Lailah to show a conflicted expression.
Perhaps he noticed that expression, but Urushihara reluctantly elaborated,
“Whether it’s the open ocean, harbour or the surrounding ship docks, you don’t see any signs of any escort ships. During this period when they have to quickly carry out their plan, for such an extravagant ship to move alone means that the Church is very afraid of causing any affront of the Northern Continent, and they understand that they are unable to use any forceful methods on the Northern Continent. Even so, the defences on the ship aren’t that reinforced, which means that the people on that ship aren’t that important. This means that even if the Church sent someone with some significant position, the Northern Continent is ignoring them and sent that person back.”
“You are correct. Madam Din Dem Urs has no intentions to negotiate with the Advance Troop, this means that after some time, the Church will send another important person over.”
Urushihara’s and Farfarello’s conversation caused Lailah to stare at them in a stunned manner.
Then Urushihara turned towards Lailah and scoffed at her,
“Everyone thinks this way, but it’s amazing that you managed to evade the pursuers from Heaven for so long.” “W, what other choice do I have?”
Recently, Lailah had heard similar words from various people, so she started to feel very ashamed of her lack of knowledge about the world as well as her lack of planning.
“I was originally a doctor and was just a low ranked researcher who works based off Ignora’s instructions, I don’t have
any exposure to the political world.”
“This makes it even more amazing that you could live normally until now. I actually have a period of time in which my
memories are drawing a complete blank.” “Eh?”
“It’s nothing. Rather than that, Farfarello, you don’t have to follow us. Stay in the Northern Continent. We can go to
the Central Continent by ourselves.” “Eh? Lucifer?”
“Ah? But Madam Din Dem Urs instructed me to accompany both of you to Noza Quarters……”
“If Maou and Ashiya heard the conversation just now, they would definitely make the same judgement. I was still the person in charge of the invasion of the West and I have a long relationship with Olba. I know very well how the Church thinks.”
Urushihara used his palm to draw a single line across his throat.
“The Theocracy has many brains which can replace each other, but Din Dem Urs does not have any. That old lady is now the biggest breakwater protecting our plan, and since the Jirga has been postponed indefinitely, there is no other replacement who can immediately rule the Northern Continent. If the Northern Continent splits apart now, the situation will turn against us.”
“D, do you mean that the Church plans to send someone to assassinate Lidem?!”
Lailah could not help but scream this, but Urushihara shook his head in response,
“They probably won’t carry out such an extreme and obvious thing, but depending on the identity of the next important person they send over, we cannot be too optimistic. There are many situations which can force Din Dem Urs to be unable to interfere in the Central Continent and the Church Troops. Once the old lady judges that there are no advantages in being on our side, she might change sides anytime. I don’t know how Ashiya negotiated with Din Dem Urs before, but while Din Dem Urs is unable to betray us, we need to extend the period of time of this situation as much as possible…… what kind of expression is that, both of you?”
Lailah and Farfarello looked stunned.
They did not expect that Ursuhihara was able to produce such convincing analysis and instructions---- “……When there are no other people to depend on, and there is no choice, I will also think that much!” And because both their expressions were too obvious, Urushihara looked away unhappily.
“Hey, are you alright?”
After Lailah saw Urushihara slumped on the floor of the ship’s cabin, not moving at all, she panicked.
They had boarded a cargo ship arranged by Din Dem Urs, which was heading to Noza Quarters from Welland Isa, but Urushihara already looked bad before he boarded the ship.
Since a long time ago, the ships in Ente Isla were ships with sails.
Not only were they greatly affected by the wind, they were not that stable while sailing. Affected by the waves, the ship cabin was rocking greatly.
For navy warships and ships ridden by nobles, there was a type of ship called a spell ship which was not affected by the ocean conditions at all.
But for such a valuable ship, even rich nations would only have one of them at most, and regrettably, Din Dem Urs only arranged a normal sailing ship for the two of them.
Even so, during this period of economic boom and vast increase in goods flow, being concerned about Kinanah’s situation and preparing a room in the most congested cargo ship going between Welland Isa and Noza Quarters was already something to be grateful for.
Even though they were very grateful……
“I want to fly……fly to a……faraway place.”
Urushihara groaned softly towards the floor of the ship cabin. He was clearly seasick.
He could nonchalantly carry out an aerial battle intense enough to tear a normal person’s body apart, but for unknown

reasons, Urushihara was abnormally bad at riding transport vehicles.
Because Maou, Ashiya and Suzuno did not have such symptoms, it was simply Urushihara’s natural constitution. “I never expected that you will get seasick……I have never heard of a demon feeling dizzy while taking transport.” “……”
He did not even have the energy to rebuke this.
“Are you like this on other transport vehicles?”
“……Cars, I can’t sit in them for long. Trains, it’s fine even if I ride on them for a long time.”
“How normal. It looks like you have a physical constitution in which you get motion sickness easily. Then at least sleep in the hammock? Doesn’t it hurt sleeping on the floor?”
This was called a cabin, but it was still a cargo ship after all.
They did not have luxury items like a bed, but only two hammocks secured by two metal parts which looked like they would loosen with a tug.
“If I lie on that, I will really die. Lying on the floor makes it more bearable.”
“Is that so?”
Based on the principle of physics, on a stable ocean surface, the hammock suspended in the air was the best for keeping level, but the reason for getting seasick was not just because the person felt the place was swaying.
The difference between what the body felt and what they saw, strong lighting, smells as well as the subconscious pressure caused by being in a closed space.
There were many reasons for being seasick, and the person felt that the current position was better, then it would be better not to move him forcefully.
“The packed lunch which Lidem and Farfarello-san gave us would probably spoil if we don’t finish it today.” “Please don’t mention food to me……”
“Can I give your share to Kinanah-san then?” “……Up to you. Uupuh!”
From the corner of his eye, Urusihara saw Lailah open Kinanah’s cage and pass him something which looked like a
sandwich.
After Kinanah’s nose twitched, just like a normal lizard, he began to eat the sandwich slowly.
“……”
The scene of it biting everything in Room 201 seemed just like a lie, after Kinanah returned from the underground facility in the Demon World, he had lost his vitality completely.
It even made people worry if this long journey would tax his body even more.
He was now talking very little, and even if he returned to Ente Isla where there was demonic magic, there was no worry of him growing larger like before.
If Kinanah died just like that, how would the Astral Gem be affected?
“Ugh……”
However, the feeling of nausea interrupted Urushihara’s thoughts.
It had been a long time since he felt this uncomfortable.
His motion sickness had not been this bad even when he rode on the car belonging to the Sasaki family to go to Nagano. His head and chest felt uncomfortable, yet he was unable to throw up.
“Damn……it.”
Because he was lying on the floor, every time the ship cut through the waves, the vibration caused would transmit to his body via the floor.
The body of the ship creaked like it was being pressed on, and because he was within the ship, he did not know where the sounds came from.
In the small room where light could not shine in, he did not know what was happening outside. All of this made him uncomfortable.
If only he could go outside.
There was no reason for him to be trapped in such a small and dark location.
“Lucifer?” “……”
“Hey, Lucifer?! Pull yourself together?” “…………Don’t shake me. I feel like throwing up.” “Eep!”
Being shaken vigorously by Lailah when his consciousness was gradually fading away worsened Urushihara’s
seasickness.
“Ah……”
Once Urushihara declared that he wanted to throw up, Lailah escaped to the other side of the cabin, but perhaps it was a trick of the mind, when Urushihara got up slowly, Lailah felt that some light had been restored in his eyes.
“……I’m going to the deck to throw up.” “Be, be careful.”
“Ah, that’s right. Lailah. Why was I tied to that bed before the moon split?”
When the question casually asked by Urushihara reached Lailah’s ears, she momentarily showed an expression like
she had seen the Death God.
“In the basement of Satanasarc. That medical bed. It was prepared for me, right?” “Lu……Lucifer, that is,”
“Oh? Or could it be,”
Urushihara laughed weakly using his eyes, where dark eye circles had surfaced due to his face turning pale from seasickness,
“You have also forgotten?” “……”
Lailah could not answer.
Why.
“Perhaps everyone is like that to some degree. Seems like I can’t expect anything from Gabriel either.” Leaving behind Lailah, who became expressionless like she was wearing a mask, Urushihara left the cabin. The narrow corridor swayed continuously, and because light could not reach this place, it was also very dark. With unsteady steps, Urushihara supported himself against the wall and moved forward slowly.
His knees were shaking.
His chest felt tight, there was a sour taste deep within his throat, he felt thirsty.
“Ah……that’s right, so that’s it happened. Damn it, but the trigger was actually seasickness…… can’t I regain my memories in a cooler way?”
Urushihara resisted expelling the contents of his stomach and continued to climb upwards within the ship. He did not meet anyone on the way.
This was a cargo ship. Because the sailing time was not long, any other passengers besides Urushihara and Lailah were probably either resting in their room or resting on the deck.
Urushihara climbed the stairs with all his might, and when he opened the door leading to the ship’s deck, the sunlight
pierced harshly into his eyes which were already used to the dark.
“Ugoh……”
Strong light was also an enemy of seasickness.
Even if he felt dizzy, Urushihara barely managed to rush to the side of the ship, sticking his head outside to vomit.
“Ughhh……”
The various expelled masses fell into the shiny water surface below and quickly flowed behind the ship. The wind did not feel that strong, so the tidal current and the wind direction probably matched up well. The boat was travelling at a much faster speed than imagined.
“Ah……it’s bright.”
Even if his body felt a little better, but Urushihara instinctively knew that after he threw up everything, the true stages of seasickness would begin.
He looked up towards the sky in melancholy.
Perhaps the wind speed in the sky was different, as if they were pushed by the sunlight, the thin layer of cloud spread out in the blue sky chased behind the ship.
“This blue sky and white clouds are maddening. Ah~ if Villa Rosa Sasazuka in summer had air conditioning, it was be the best.”
Only in Urushihara’s vision, the blue sky gradually turned into a red sky buffeted by violent winds.
“If so……haah, I only remember I also felt carefree at that time. Ah, damn it, this is what is known as dark history, right? Wishing to bury my head in a pillow while rolling around feels like this huh. I can’t believe this.”
A tear formed a single line from the corner of Urushihara’s eye.
Then Urushihara subconsciously said what he had not remembered saying during his extremely long life he lived.
“I actually called them Papa and Mama. Ughhh…….peh!”
After throwing up his embarrassing memories together with his vomit, Urushihara spat towards the ocean.
To be continued?
