Vol.8 Chapter 8 Part 2
Heard a buzzing sound, countless bright red flying ants emerged from the nest. Guo Shi’er looked back and couldn’t help but feel numb. The ants were too big, with a foot-long body, two pairs of wings on their backs and flickering runes on their bodies. They were the standard Mutant Fu Insects! The scariest thing was the staggering number of them, they poured out in the thousands, unknowing of how many ants were still left in the nest.

At this moment, a large group of hunting vehicles chased after them and collided head-on with thousands of flying ants. Guo Shi’er was overjoyed, he laughed wildly and accelerated forward.

No point in worrying about one enemy when one had many more.

Anyways, there were hundreds of hunting vehicles and thousands of flying ants, but Guo Shi’er simply did not care. He just laughed and rushed forward because he saw the hope in that the sky would be dark soon.

The Mutant Flying Ants were not easy to provoke. They flew out of the nest and pounced on the hunting vehicles without hesitation! The group of hunting vehicles was left in chaos. A few Mutant Fu Insects might not be terrifying, but thousands of them was a different story. It was not something that could be countered by human power.

The size of the hunting vehicles was larger, while Guo Shi’er’s body was smaller, so only a dozen or so Mutant Flying Ants chased Guo Shi’er while the other Mutant Flying Ants all rushed towards the hunting vehicle.

Fu Ye Xiang Rong’s hunting vehicle also arrived and he suddenly saw so many Mutant Fu Insects that his face couldn’t help but change. He shouted, “Retreat! Hurry! Get out of here… this is the Mutant Fu Ants’ territory… quick, f*cking run!” He shouted out the order to run away.

So many hunting vehicles were crowded together that they couldn’t disperse and all that could be heard were howls. Someone shouted wildly, “The ants are poisonous… ah…”

“Quick! Leave quickly…”

“Ah…”

One by one, the hunting vehicles fell and many more hunting vehicles rushed everywhere, the whole group was in chaos. The hunting vehicles that flew within the chaos hit the hunting vehicles beside them. The outer hunting vehicles fled desperately and the inner hunting vehicles were like headless flies like bumping around! At least dozens of hunting vehicles fell.

The disciples who had fallen to the ground discovered in despair that countless large ants had emerged from the ground, and although they could not fly, they were still mutated ants, flowing out overwhelmingly and scary to watch.

The sky was even more chaotic. Fu Ye Xiang Rong shouted, “Retreat orderly! Whoever dares to wander out, even if he escapes back, I will kill him!”

The flying ants rushed over at the sound of the voice. Fu Ye Xiang Rong’s scalp was numb, and he kept saying, “Go! F*ck, Ada, why don’t you move?”

Ada was confused, “We can’t get out, there are hunting vehicles all around us!”

Fu Ye Xiang Rong slapped him and cursed, “Stupid! Charge!” He raised his hand and shot out countless fire sparks. His hands quickly squeezed the spell, the fire sparks immediately turned into a fire snake, entangling the flying Mutant Fu Ants. A piercing squeak sounded, those Mutant Flying Ants spewed out acid together trying to extinguish the fire snake and suddenly, the sky was filled with an intense acid rain.

Ada jolted from Fu Ye Xiang Rong’s slap and maneuvered the hunting vehicle as hard as he could backwards. Seeing that he was about to crash into a hunting vehicle, and he couldn’t help but yell, “Get out of the way!”

Fu Ye Xiang Rong shouted violently and a huge ice spike suddenly appeared in front of the hunting vehicle, crashing into the front of the other vehicle! It shattered and the disciples inside fell down screaming. The ice spike didn’t disappear but continued forward.

Ada drove the hunting vehicle right behind it. After shooting down about seven or eight hunting vehicles, their hunting vehicle finally rushed out.

Fu Ye Xiang Rong snapped fiercely, “Go!”

Ada had gone limp and his eyes blurred. He was hit in the back by Fu Ye Xiang Rong, falling off the hunting vehicle and instantly being drowned with ants. Fu Ye Xiang Rong cursed, “Useless fool, better off dead!” He personally took control of the hunting vehicle and fled.

Guo Shi’er fled as fast as he could, the Mutant Flying Ants were behind him in hot pursuit. So far none of the hunting vehicles had caught up with him, and he relaxed a little, knowing that he should be able to escape this time.

The speed of the Mutant Flying Ants was about the same as Guo Shi’er’s, so they couldn’t catch up to him for the time being, only flapping their wings desperately behind him. Their seemingly endless stamina made Guo Shi’er surprised and delighted at the same time. The Fu Ye Family would definitely suffer greatly if the Mutant Flying Ants had this kind of stamina.

Guo Shi’er ran with all his might, doing his best to put as much distance between him and the Mutant Flying Ants as possible.

The sky was already dark, and Guo Shi’er gradually settled his mind. He knew that he had escaped this time, and if he didn’t encounter this nest of mutated ants, it would have been difficult for him to escape the Fu Ye Family’s slaughter.

To thank this group of Mutant Flying Ants, he decided to make use of the dozen or so flying ants that were chasing him. The Mutant Fu Insects were all treasures, so how could he let them go easily? But now was not a good time to do it.

Guo Shi’er continued to fly forward, but his mood was completely different from before, it was very relaxed and pleasant. He flew ahead unhurriedly, turning back from time to time to inspect the dozen or so Flying Ants. The more he looked at them, the more he found the Mutant Flying Ants beautiful and cute.

He remembered a sealing method, but unfortunately, the materials he had weren’t refined and although he knew the runes, he didn’t inscribe them on talismans. He couldn’t help but sigh in his heart, “Too bad, if I had refined the insect talisman talismans earlier, I could have sealed a few Mutant Flying Ants. Those things are good, they can fly and are beautiful. Their strength looks good too.”

Guo Shi’er overestimated these Mutant Flying Ants. These flying ants were only first or second grade Mutant Fu Insects and couldn’t even compare to his Dark Winged Demonic Scorpion. Flying Ants only relied on their numbers and on the power of the group, a mere few Flying Ants could not do much.

The sky was now completely dark, Guo Shi’er could no longer see the mound where the ant nest was located, and he immediately summoned the Dark Winged Demonic Scorpion. It was best to let the Fu Insects deal with other Fu Insects. As expected, the Dark Winged Demonic Scorpion was very excited to see the Flying Ants and waved its scorpion claws to meet them, while the small scorpions on its back also rushed out.

Guo Shi’er really wanted to catch a live Flying Ant. He carefully transmitted this idea to the Dark Winged Demonic Scorpion, not expecting to receive its response very quickly, and it agreed. Guo Shi’er couldn’t help but rejoice.

This time, Guo Shi’er could already see the strengths and weaknesses of both sides. The Dark Winged Demonic Scorpion barely made a move and those little scorpions ate all the Flying Ants one by one. Two of the small scorpions, holding a Flying Ant, ran to Guo Shi’er and held it up in front of him.

Guo Shi’er was surprised, “This is for me to capture?”

The Dark Winged Demonic Scorpion let out a squeak, confirming it. Guo Shi’er knew in his heart that he was not mistaken.

The Flying Ant’s power was in its jaws. Guo Shi’er grabbed the ant’s slender neck and carefully examined it.

A triangular head, a body with three sections, six thin feet, long antennas, sharp teeth, the body was covered with tiny red runes dyeing its entire body a bright red. Other than the runes and body length, it didn’t seem to be any different from the ants he had seen before. This ant was extremely strong and kept wriggling in his hands.

After thinking about it, Guo Shi’er decided to give up. He raised his hand and threw out the Flying Ant, saying, “You guys eat it!”

The Dark Winged Demonic Scorpion waved its scorpion claws, caught the flying ant in one fell swoop, brought it directly to its mouth, ate it with a crunch, and waved its scorpion claw to convey that it seemed to like the taste of Flying Ants. When the small scorpions climbed back up the Dark Winged Demonic Scorpion’s back and burrowed into it one by one, Guo Shi’er put it back into the Ancient Insect Talisman.

Looking back at the dark sky, there was a faint glimmer of light in the distance. Guo Shi’er knew that it was the fire from the fallen hunting vehicle. With a slight smile, he activated the flying talisman and continued to fly forward.

……..

Eagle Demon had been waiting outside Guo Shi’er’s hut. No one else was allowed to enter.

In the meantime, Xie Xiaoping, Tong Zhi and Guan Yuntao all came by once and heard that Guo Shi’er was occupied making something, so they stopped bothering him and just told Eagle Demon to let them know once he was out.

Three days passed quickly.

Eagle Demon sat in the small courtyard. A beast skin spread on the ground, and he slept on the beast skin at night. He was accustomed to this kind of life in the Great Plains.

The door suddenly opened and Guo Shi’er walked out of the room, it could be seen that he was very tired.

Eagle Demon was slightly surprised. He got up and asked, “Shi’er, how is it? Have you seen the old man?”

Guo Shi’er smiled bitterly, “Alas, I’m lucky to be back alive… The Altar Secret Realm has been discovered and it’s someone from another continent hunting for me… It took me three whole days to get away and come back.”

Eagle Demon was shocked and asked, “How did you get discovered?”

Guo Shi’er said, “If we can get in, others can as well… Hmph, they made a mess of me and I didn’t let them suffer… Too bad I didn’t see Teacher this time.”

Eagle Demon asked, “Do you know who it is?”

Guo Shi’er nodded and said, “I met them last time in the Tomb Secret Realm, and this time it’s them again. This is the second time they’ve hunted me down already. Fortunately, there are no powerful experts, or else I really wouldn’t be able to return this time… No, I have to go back to the Chenxiao Sect to see Master.”

Eagle Demon was dumbfounded and said, “If you tell your master, you won’t be able to keep the altar a secret.”

Guo Shi’er said, “The secret of the altar can’t be kept anymore, and since it can’t be kept, it won’t be cheap to have it, so I’ll go and talk to Master.” He was well aware of the value of the altar, but since it had been discovered by the people of another Mid-Level Magic Continent, Master Luo Jie would definitely not be able to hold onto the altar.

Eagle Demon was right, only people from the Mid-Level Magic Continent could deal with people from an equivalent continent, Guo Shi’er’s idea made sense. He said, “Okay, I’ll go back with you.”

Guo Shi’er said, “Let’s go find Master!”

The two of them immediately ran to the Chenxiao Sect.

They soon entered the Chenxiao Sect. Guo Shi’er quickly arrived at Ku Mu’s manor and rushed straight into the underground rune-making hall. He immediately saw Ku Mu sitting on the floor, seemingly pondering over something. He shouted out, “Master, I’m back!”

When Ku Mu saw Guo Shi’er, there was a trace of breaking into a smile on his stoic face. He asked, “Didn’t you go on a mission? How come you are back?”

Guo Shi’er said, “I have a question for you, Master.”
