Vol.8 Chapter 9 Part 1
Ku Mu asked, “You came back here just to ask a question?”

Guo Shi’er said very seriously, “Master, this is a great problem… I think it’s very important.”

Ku Mu said, “Alright, tell me about it.” He straightened his back and looked at Guo Shi’er very seriously.

Guo Shi’er said, “Master, have you ever seen an altar that can help you advance?” He had figured out on his way home that it wasn’t enough to get his master to do something about it. It would be a good idea to talk to Martial Aunt, if she said so, he would definitely go, but Master was different, only by using the altar as a lure would Master be able to make a move.

Ku Mu’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, a little surprised, “Altar? An altar that can help advance? Where is it?”

Guo Shi’er said, “In a secret realm.”

Ku Mu said, “Tell me more details…”

Guo Shi’er carefully described the appearance of the altar, as well as the small altar around it. He also mentioned that by spending the night on the altar, one could gain great benefits and even advance as a result.

Withered Ku Mu’s face became extremely serious as he asked, “Shi’er, this altar… have you mentioned it to anyone in the Chenxiao Sect?”

Guo Shi’er shook his head, “No.”

A smile appeared on Ku Mu’s face, but it was still incredibly stiff. He nodded his head, “Good, very good!”

Guo Shi’er asked, “Master, what is this altar?”

Ku Mu smiled, “This is an altar that has been passed down from ancient times. Its function is similar to that of the Void Mist Dao, only that you have not actually activated the altar yet… This is a treasure of immense value. Even if someone from the High-Level Magic Continent saw it, it would be just as valuable… I didn’t expect you to find such a place!”

Guo Shi’er smiled bitterly, “But Master, this place has already been discovered, and the other party is a family from the same level continent as us… This time, I went to Misty Rain Town for a mission and went to the Mysterious Altar. I almost couldn’t come back, I was chased for three whole days, but I was lucky to escape back.”

Ku Mu narrowed his smile for a moment and asked, “They’re after you? Didn’t you tell them you were from the Chenxiao Clan?”

Guo Shi’er said, “They chased after me without even giving me a chance to speak.”

Ku Mu said gloomily, “How dare they chase and kill my apprentice. Good! Take me to the Altar Secret Realm, I’d like to see who dares be so rampant.”

Guo Shi’er hesitated and said, “Master, they are many, thousands of them… There are also hunting vehicles that can fly, they are very fast, you alone… Although you are not afraid of them…”

Ku Mu thought about it and said, “Go call your Martial Aunt and let her make the arrangements.”

Guo Shi’er got up and said, “Okay, Master, you should also come out and discuss this with Martial Aunt.” Seeing Ku Mu nod, he then left the underground rune-making hall and went outside to the courtyard.

Monier had rushed over, and when she saw Guo Shi’er, she immediately came up to him with a smile on her face and hugged him, smiling, “Baby, why did you come back today? Did you miss me?”

Guo Shi’er was addicted to pretending to be a child. He hugged Monier’s neck and said, “Yes, I missed you.”

Monier was so happy that she kissed his forehead, stroked Guo Shi’er’s head and said, “Then stay at home for a few days before you go back, hehehe. Have you met your Master, Ku Mu?”

Guo Shi’er said, “I just came from Master. Martial Aunt, I’m looking for you to help me with something.”

Monier took Guo Shi’er’s hand and walked into the room, sat down cross-legged, embraced Guo Shi’er and asked with a smile, “Baby, what do you need? Tell Martial Aunt… need money…? Or has someone messed with our baby?”

Guo Shi’er told her about the altar. Once Monier heard it, she couldn’t help but change her face. The altar possessed a function similar to that of the Void Mist Dao, and in the eyes of their great Saint experts, it was a priceless treasure. Any faction wouldn’t take such important news lightly.

Monier said, “They hunted you down for three days? These god-killers… I’m not going to be done with them!” Her reaction was much more intense than Ku Mu’s and she looked like she had suffered a great loss.

Guo Shi’er s heart warmed, it was the feeling of having someone to protect and love. He said, “Luckily, I escaped and they suffered a big loss as well. They probably lost at least a few hundred people.”

Monier was greatly interested. She asked in detail about what had happened and listened with changing eyebrows. She touched Guo Shi’er’s head and praised, “Baby, how did you think of cutting that mound tower?”

Guo Shi’er smiled bitterly, “If it was a stone tower, I would have had to smash it several times. Whatever came out was better than me alone! It needed to be strong against a couple hundred hunting vehicles.”

At this time, Ku Mu also came out. Guo Shi’er even called out, “Master, you’re here.”

Ku Mu nodded and said, “Monier, it’s not enough for us two Saints to move. Call Zhu Juan, that guy should be strong enough and you’ve always been close to him…”

Monier rolled her eyes and said, “Nonsense! What do you mean the relationship has been good? Don’t I have a good relationship with you?”

There was no expression at all on Ku Mu’s face as he said, “The three of us… are enough to sweep away any family. Hmph, they dare to chase and try to kill my apprentice. Watch me destroy their family!”

Guo Shi’er felt a cold sweat, Master was really crazy. Monier interrupted and looked at Guo Shi’er. “Baby, look at your master, he’s just a piece of dead wood[1], rotten wood… He speaks without thinking… No, his brain is a big piece of wood!”

Guo Shi’er smiled bitterly as he hugged Monier’s neck and leaned in to whisper into her ear, “Martial Aunt, the altar is important.”

Monier nodded repeatedly and said, “Alright, I’ll listen to Baby.” She immediately called the servant and asked him to go to Zhu Juan’s manor to invite him.

Ku Mu asked, “Shi’er, you have a Talisman Gate?”

Guo Shi’er nodded and said, “I only have one talisman door, after opening it, it takes three days to use it again. Alas, otherwise I wouldn’t be chased for three days… it was so unpleasant!”

Ku Mu and Monier’s eyes showed a hint of surprise, the Talisman Gate was not something that ordinary people could have. It was a product made in a High-Level Continent, even the Ku Mu couldn’t make them. He did have a few Talisman Gates though, they were very expensive and rare as they flowed out from a High-Level Continent.

Monier asked, “Baby, where did you get this Talisman Gate?”

Guo Shi’er said, “I exchanged with a man in the Secret Altar Realm… That man was very, very powerful, so powerful that I can’t quite describe it. The random talismans he took out were rare, but unfortunately, we didn’t have many items in our possession to exchange.”

Ku Mu wondered, “What was his occupation?”

Guo Shi’er said, “I don’t know, we asked him, but he said… he’s just a merchant.”

With a look of shock on both Ku Mu and Monier’s faces, Ku Mu asked, “What does he look like? What’s his name?”

Guo Shi’er said, “He said his name was Li Ran, he was very young looking…” He described Li Ran’s appearance in detail, as well as the exchange of a Fu meal for an Origin Rune Ball.

Ku Mu said repeatedly, “Lucky, lucky…”

Guo Shi’er said curiously, “Master and Martial Aunt, do you know who that person is? Is he from a High-Level Continent?”

Monier said, “He shouldn’t be from a High-Level Continent, but that person is even more terrifying than one. He likely is a legendary wandering merchant. It’s a pity you didn’t have enough material, or you could have gotten more good things in exchange.”

Ku Mu said, “It’s already good. Shi’er and the others are Low-Level Continent professionals, to be recognized by their seniors is already… Well, it already helped Shi’er a lot. He ate a Fu meal and gave Shi’er an Origin Rune Ball, which is rare, and let him advance quickly.”

In the middle of the conversation, Zhu Juan walked in. His fat body was one of his defining features.

He wore a purple and red robe and laughed as soon as he came in, “Hey, you two… tsk, are you back together? Shi’er is also there…” He was just as strong as Ku Mu, an Advanced Saint Runemaster.

Ku Mu said coldly, “Fatty, shut up if you don’t want to die!”

Zhu Juan waved his fat arm without a care in the world and said, “Hey, you’re the one who invited me here!”

Monier said, “Fat Zhu, ignore him, he’s a dead piece of wood! Shi’er, call him Teacher!”

Ku Mu said coldly, “Call him Martial Uncle!”

According to Ku Mu’s identity, he should indeed be called Martial Uncle, but according to Monier’s identity, Guo Shi’er should call him Teacher. Now it was difficult for Guo Shi’er, he didn’t know what to do.

Zhu Juan smilingly said, “Shi’er, call me Fat Uncle, ignore the two old prudes, one is wooden and the other crazy… Hehehe.”

Monier shouted, “Who’s the crazy one, dead fatty?”

Zhu Juan said in a serious manner, “Monier, don’t scare Shi’er.”

Monier was speechless, she exhaled and hugged Guo Shi’er, saying, “Baby, they’re all bad people, let’s ignore them!”

Guo Shi’er almost laughed out loud., but he held back his laughter and said, “Good afternoon, Fat Uncle.”

Zhu Juan was very impressed with Guo Shi’er. This little fellow had advanced to Advanced Rune Grandmaster at the age of ten. He was also very impressed that Ku Mu had received a disciple with such a good potential and said, “Good, good, Shi’er good! Ku Mu, Monier, what did you call me over for?”

With Monier here, Ku Mu hardly spoke much. Monier told him about the mysterious altar. Zhu Juan also wiped the smile on his face and said in surprise, “It’s an ancient altar? Why not report it to the clan?”

Ku Mu said coldly, “If we report it to the clan, there’s nothing left for you us to do!”

Zhu Juan suddenly understood what the two meant, they wanted to have this altar all to themselves, that’s why they came to pull him in. After thinking about it, Zhu Juan revealed a smile and said, “Fine, I’ll join! Are we strong enough? Enough to not look for anyone else?”

Ku Mu shook his head, “There are too many people… The news can’t be kept, of course, but even if the news leaks out, as long as we don’t report it, the clan won’t have a solution. There’s no need to find more people, it’s enough with the three of us.” They were all the top powers in the clan, and the clan wouldn’t offend these experts for that reason.

Monier nodded and said, “Well, baby, how many experts do they have?”

Guo Shi’er shook his head, “I haven’t seen a single one, they all chased me with hunting vehicles. If there were any experts like Master, I wouldn’t be able to come back.”
