「When you ask us to help you prepare the food… Did you mean the food for all the inhabitants of Noah?」

Krull asked in bewilderment as she watched the children watching them from their hiding places in the shadows of the buildings while sucking on their fingers.

「So is. Well, it’s not like we’re really going to prepare food for everyone, but since we, Resistance, are the ones who take care of the distribution of supplies, it is natural that we take care of covering the food distribution of the area of ​​which we are in charge at least」

「But…… will that be enough to feed all the people around here?」

「Nn? Don’t worry, at the back of the Residential Zone there is a place for food preparation, and there we can find many more ingredients, so there will be no problems. Or did you think we were going to start cooking here, in the middle of the road? We couldn’t even light the fire here 」

Krull finally let out a sigh as she placed her hand on her chest in relief.

Hearing the words spoken by Mary, Krull muttered, 「I-… I see」, with a depressed look. She had felt it before, but now she could finally understand how hard and miserable the life of the inhabitants of Earth was compared to that of the inhabitants of Earth Clear.

After realizing that, she couldn’t help but laugh wryly at the fact that, as she slept peacefully in the capsule, immersed in a dream world where life was much happier, people on this side, like Mary, barely managed to survive while facing the harsh and desperate conditions to which this world subjected them.

「Eh? Then what are all those ingredients for, Mary?」

Tina asked, head bowed, as she looked at the contents of the pot Mary was carrying.

「It’s something I grow in a small garden that I am caring for…… I want to use it to feed the children」, said Mary, smiling slightly.

「Eh? But Mary, you’re a child too, aren’t you?」, said Yuki, with a mischievous smile on her face.

「Shut up! I’m already an adult! Don’t treat me like a child!」

Mary replied vigorously, on the other hand, Yuki simply said, 「Sure, sure」, while patting her on the head. Mary, who had her hands busy holding the pot, could simply mutter, 「So-so humiliating……」, as she looked spitefully at Yuki.

「You’re strong…… All the inhabitants of this world are」

Takako muttered as she watched that scene.

One of the reasons why Resistance wasn’t understaffed was because of the importance it had on Noah. All the inhabitants of Noah understood the gravity of the situation in which they found themselves, and as a consequence, no one, no matter how poor they were, try to compete or fight among themselves, but instead worked together in order to achieve the same objective.

This also helped the inhabitants of Earth Clear who came here, who were indispensable to retrieve the world, to feel more eager to join Resistance to help of what would be expected taking the situation in which they were put. This was due not only to the reason why they had to fight, but to the fact that absolutely all of the inhabitants of Noah cooperated to keep moving forward.

To Takako, this was one of the few beautiful things that would rarely be seen in Earth Clear.

A few minutes had passed, and the group was now in the center of one of the numerous residential areas scattered around Noah, where some of the inhabitants of Earth. Currently, the group was wearing aprons while serving plates with food for the residents of the area where they were.

In addition to the food that they were distributing for everyone, they were also delivering some dough balls filled with vegetables made by Mary for the children, however, they were lining up to receive these only at the place where Mary was.

Palna, Tina and Takako could only smile as they saw how Mary, who had clearly already fully earned the children’s trust, was handing out their portions of food while playing with them.

「Mary-chan is so popular. *Gununu*, I’m so jealous …… if only I looked a little more childish. I wonder why none of the children comes to where I am…… Hmph, It is they who miss out this cuteness」

Asked Yuki, who was distributing the food between them and Krull and Mary, who was interested in the talk that pair was having. 「No-Nothing! We were just talking about something that happened a long time ago!」 said Palna in an attempt to settle the issue.

Alice finally let out a sigh the moment she seemed to lose interest. However, at that moment, she notice the expression on Krull’s face, which seemed to be distributing the food with a blank gaze.

「Krull-san, is something wrong? You have been down since we got back 」

「No, it’s just that…… we finally found him, but I didn’t think we’d have to part ways again like that……」

The look on Alice’s face darkened the moment she heard that, turning into a look similar to Krull’s. She felt the same way.

Alice had been trying not to think about it too much as she understood that Kagami must have his reasons for acting in this way. However, that didn’t stop Alice from feeling worried about the situation they were in.
