ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 338: Dragon! Dragon! Part 4 Part 1
To put it simply and without any sugar coating: the situation we are currently in is bad. Like, extremely bad.
The chimera-like creatures that were emerging from the inside of the red pools scattered all over the battlefield looked like something you would often see in B class horrors or even lower. They may have been small fries here, but you must hand it to them: they were really tough and resilient for mere small fries. But I think that it is not something that’s characteristic of them. It’s just because the developers would probably not anticipate that some players would be crazy enough to start a raid battle meant for forty five people with a team of only three players.
「Tsk…… Should I be using it now? No, but if I were to do that……」
No, that’s not good. Not in this situation. We still don’t know everything about the main body of the Red Dragon, and the way in which it moves is way too unpredictable. If we had the means of getting constantly resurrected here like that time against the Gravekeeper Wezaemon, then it would have been an option, but……
「Sanraku-kun! Pull yourself together! There will come a time for you to crawl on all-fours and squeal like a pig, but that time is not today!」
「Dude! Could you like, stop with saying things like that!?」

Deepslaughter works here as a backline firepower. My senses screaming at me to dodge the incoming danger, I perform a summersault or two and get out of the way of the rays of light that started shooting towards the Red Dragon from behind my back. It’s a really good thing that I have skills that allow such crazy acrobatics to be performed without a single issue.
But what I wanted to say here was: what the hell is wrong with that attack!? One wrong move and you could have easily hit me with that, you crazy woman! Be more careful next time!
「I’m sorry, Sanraku-kun! But I promise that this was not intentional, even if it seemed that way to you! It’s just that this magic has an auto-homing function! So don’t think bad about me because of that!」
I cannot be too sure about this premonition of mine just now, but I was sure that if I were to look back right now, I would have saw Deepslaughter smiling like an absolute maniac. Seriously now, if this was Bakumatsu Online, you would have already been on the receiving end of my divine punishment, I hope that you realize that, woman……
But still, about Magic Casters…… Since she was here, her level and powers should be more than strong enough, but she was able to easily wipe out the small fries with that one attack alone. So if she was this crazy powerful in this moment, just what kind of broken powers would she receive upon releasing the level cap on her avatar? I shudder thinking about it.
Anyways, I ready the Aradval Rebuild and start running across the field, slashing away at the monsters that were not quite dead yet as a result of the magic bombardment, finishing them off. A single slash per monster was more than enough to send them back to the ground.
「…… Another tremors! Is it coming again!?」
From underground? From inside of the red pools? From the sky? When we talk about surprise attacks, the only way for the players to defend against them is to try to predict just from where they are going to come. However, how can we possibly do that if we are fighting against something that is totally unpredictable and it is impossible to predict its next move!?
That is why we have homing attacks, in order to give us at least some sort of a countermeasure against opponents like that, it’s a strategy that gamers knew about since long ago, as a matter of fact. I mean, what better way to hit something that you cannot target manually than the attack that does not require you to target at all?
「Now then, it’s time to go on the offensive here. If we only stay on the defensive, this thing is going to just weaken us down bit by bit and it will be all over……」
「What are you doing there, Sanraku-kun! Let’s just pump this bastard full of our most powerful attacks while being on the constant run! I call this tactic “Pump-and-Dump” for short!」
「Dude! Have you heard about “Modesty” mod for this game!? No!? Well, that’s a fucking shame, because you could really use a mod like that, you know!?」
……!!! Tremors starting once again. The ground starting to swell in my vicinity. Taking three steps to the side in order to avoid colliding with whatever was coming at me. Hey! Don’t tell me that this thing also has homing attacks!? For fuck’s sake, that’s overdoing it……!

Imagine that we place a handkerchief on the ground and next we place a single marble right on top of it. Then let us say that you were to grab one of the corners of said handkerchief and pull on that corner as hard as you possibly can.
Now, here is the question for you, class: according to every single known rule of physics, what kind of movement the marble that we placed on top of the handkerchief is going to make?

I’m going to show you! No matter if it’s on top of a speeding train, or even at the top of the plane flying high in the air! I have even fought outside of the mighty space battleship on some occasions, so there is no terrain that I am not adept at fighting on!

The state in which I was right now was a pseudo-sweep state. I hit the ground with my left hand, supporting my body from falling down head-first. Now, you might wander what exactly happened to my right arm? Of course, I used my precious right arm to hit my chest with it!

I might just add here that I learned to use that attack without the assist of any skill. When I added skill assists to that, it took me three times faster than I originally did.
