ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 357: Dragon! Dragon! Part 22 Part 2
Since the Tri-headed Tyranno recovered most of its lost HP thanks to my healing items, it was now full of motivation to fight. So, while it was putting some much needed pressure on the Great Red Devourer, we used that opportunity in order to evacuate and have yet another strategy meeting in the meantime.
While pretending that everything else up until now was a breeze, I put Emul back at the top of my head, while looking towards the other two people with half-closed eyes. Once more, we used the abandoned house as the place for our emergency meeting.
「Since we are really short on time here, let’s make it as quick as possible, alright? First, a quick reflection: you. You are dead, you stupid bitch!」
「Yay! Spicy atmosphere and dirty words! Just the way I like it!」
BONK!! BONK!! BONK!!
「Ah! Wait! Wait just a minute! This is bad! Right now it’s really bad! I smell death in here! And death is not very fashionable, wouldn’t you agree……!? Afungh!?」
Hitting Deepslaughter directly to the head with the hilt of Memento Mori is both really satisfying and allows me to silence the stupid wench before she manages to go on a rant of her own and start making excuses…… I see, such wisdom in such a simple action. There is no better truth in life than that.
「Next one on the list. Listen here, Tottori: I’m not going to rain on your Brave parade. You are free to do as you please. HOWEVER, could you make up your god damned mind here? It’s either focusing on the raid boss, or focusing on the People of the Forest. There are no in betweens.」
「N-No, but, you see, the thing is……」
「Shut your whore mouth, why don’t you? In this battle, people with literally no DPS to speak of have no human rights. This is not only about ShanFro here, you know…… I’m not saying that you have to be all balls-to-the-wall DPS yourself, but at least try to contribute something here…… Okay? Can you do that for me? Otherwise you might as well get yourself be eaten.」
「Guh……」
I know that evacuating the People of the Forest is important here, but at the same time you need to understand that they are just NPCs…… That being said, it would be really bad to let them all die in here. Some of them must live through this, so that they can serve their in-game political purposes.
「And as for me, maybe I was being too generous with my assumptions of you two. You can bet that this won’t happen ever again, so……」
「What’s the deal with the sudden self-reflection all of a sudden……?」
Self-reflection is an important part of improving oneself. One cannot possibly hope to increase the efficiency of their work without carving new thought process and methods of operations inside of their brains.
「Well then, this concludes the reflection meeting, and now onto the strategy meeting. But worry not, this one is going to be quick as well: it’s about its weakness. It can be found at the very back of its torso.」
「Weakness? So this thing actually has one?」
「That’s what I think. At least it’s a logical conclusion when the monster that was all about berserk attacks now suddenly starts to back away and avoiding certain attacks. And what places you usually want to protect?」
「Oh, yes! I know! Your erogenous zones! Gubeh!?」
Be grateful that I am only going to do this much to you as punishment. At least for now…… But if you were to actually die from that, it would have been no big deal. Nothing of value would be lost on this day.
「Most probably, I do believe that the Great Red Devourer is supposed to be defeated by attacking its weak point after it manages to exhaust all of the resources that are available to it. And right about now its tornado is increasingly smaller in size, and it started to show defensive behavior. So I do believe that we are on the right track with that line of thinking.
「So, is this our once in a lifetime chance at counterattack?」
「A chance, huh? …… Big word, for sure. But I would go and say that it is exactly what we are looking at right now in here.」
There are only three players in this fight. However, with just three players on us, we have managed to come this far. So since we have come this far on our own, it would be a shame to just waste an opportunity like that.
「Aside from us three players, who else remained here……? Emul and those three People of the Forest?」
The Elf that I first came in contact with, Tsundere Elf, that Allure Elf…… and believe me, I only remembered that last Elf’s name only because I had business with him. Otherwise it would have been completely forgettable.
「Fine, if it has come to this, I am going to keep my distance and stay safe, attacking whenever I find a suitable opening. So, the aim here is a red sphere inside of its mouth, right?」
「I see…… So it is going to be a play of ball, with the catch that the ball is going to be all red.」
That would be a topic of deep discussion here…… It should be relatively safe for us, and if we are lucky enough it might even be totally unresponsive…… Hmm? And why is it that all of you look so god damn disappointed all of a sudden?
「…… SO? Why the fuck you stand right next to me?」
「About that…… I’m still a melee magic caster, remember? So I need to come to the frontlines from time to time, to keep myself in shape.」

「Kuh…… I guess that Achilles really cannot hope to possibly overtake the god damn turtle, huh!?」
「Zenon? Huh? I thought that both Achilles and the Turtle are turn-based, or something. And the reason why Achilles can never outrun the turtle is because his movement speed is less than that of a turtle…… Wait, so does that mean that the turtle is secretly OP!?」」
「What game are you even talking about? I would like to play it.」」
Sounds actually boring as hell. A game where you know from the start that you actually can’t beat certain NPCs no matter how hard you try.
「Oh, and stop fooling around! I’m going to report you for harassment! This time for real!」
「And there you go again, talking nonsense like that…… Truth is, you actually enjoy a good bickering with someone from time to time, don’t you?」
「No, not really. I can honestly live without it.」
「Eh?」
「Eh?」
Eh, seriously? She seriously thought I enjoy her stupid stories, harassment and shit-talking?
「There’s a whole lot of things I would like to say here, but…… This can all wait. We have more important things to do here. For now, just do your best and drop dead.」
「I can do self-destruct magic just fine, but it is mainly Fire-based, so you sure it would be effective in here?」
「Are you being serious right now?」
Hmm, is this what they call the desire for ruin? Being able to romanticize what is basically a suicide bombing at this point? If this was a Mecha game, there would be a scene like that in there for sure, but even without getting Mechas involved, there is surely a certain kind of romance involved in defeating your opponent at the expense of your own life.
「…… I mean, Sanraku-kun…… I’ve been wondering about it for a while now, but what’s the deal with that big sword you are holding onto?」
「It’s a secret weapon.」
That’s all you are going to get out of me. I am not going to disclose any more information about Memento Mori, so sorry about that. That being said, I lightly swing my sword two or three times before putting it to rest at my shoulder once more.
「Anyways, don’t you think it’s time for you to get serious here? Miss Deepslughter with a kill score of zero?」
「You said it, not me…… Anyways, I am going to look for an opportunity and then attack that weak point of his with everything I have, sounds good?」
This means that the consultation time was over. Sorry for keeping you wait for so long, tri-headed Tyranno.
