A Question
The girls were in the dormitory’s baths at the knights’ academy. The school building and the cafeteria within had been destroyed; the survival of the dorms and baths was a silver lining to that dark cloud. The warm waters of the bath could be used to wash away the exhaustion from the work of rebuilding.
“Phew... I’m glad the dorms survived at least,” Leone said.
“You’re right, but—” Rafinha began, only to be interrupted as Inglis’s stomach rumbled.
“I think maybe I’d have preferred if the cafeteria had.”
“Ha ha ha... I guess that probably would have been better for you two.”
“But Chris is still fine!” Rafinha insisted. With a big splash, she stood up from within the bubbles and thrust her hands under Inglis’s arms.
“Eek?! R-Rani...!”
“See, right here! Chris has plenty of calories packed away!” Rafinha sounded resentful as she grabbed Inglis, surprising her. “I don’t have these, so I’m extra hungry from the lack of nutrition!”
“Knock it off!”
“Stop complaining! Don’t you need to find out how to make breasts bigger so that you can get your fight with Yua? They say if you just squeeze them, they get bigger!”
“That’s just a supersti— Wait, didn’t you already try that yourself, Rani?”
“Sure did, and you can see how far that got me!”
“Then doesn’t that prove it doesn’t work?” Leone said, embarrassed by the commotion. “I’ve heard that too, but, like... I’ve heard it has to be a guy, your lover or something.”
“Oh? Really?!” Rafinha asked excitedly.
“Rani! Stop getting weird ideas! No good will come of that!”
“Leone, do you have any experience with that? Is that how yours got so big?”
“Of course not!” Leone replied. “It’s just a rumor I heard...”
“I wonder if it’s really true,” Rafinha pondered. “I wanna ask someone who knows more.”
“You shouldn’t be interested in that, Rani. You’re too young for that,” Inglis scolded.
“There’s nothing wrong with being curious,” Rafinha insisted. “If I can’t ask other people about it, then maybe you should try it out and tell me, Chris? I could ask Rafael to help out.”
“Absolutely not!” No way, no how. Not him or anyone.
“Poor Rafael... Anyway, Leone. Would Liselotte know whether it’s true? Has she said anything to you?”
“Not from what we’ve discussed, I think?” Leone answered. “She said she’s never had a lover.”
“I see. Maybe I should ask someone older, then? Like Ripple or the principal.”
“Yeah. They’re grownups, so—”
Conveniently, Ripple and Principal Miriela entered at just that moment. It seemed they were there to bathe too.
“Um, Ripple, Principal Miriela,” Rafinha began. “There’s something we’re confused about. Could we ask you a question?”
“Sure,” Ripple answered. “Go ahead.”
“Of course,” Principal Miriela followed. “That’s a principal’s job, after all. What’s the question?”
“Well... If a man touches your breasts, do they get bigger?”
“What?!” The two gasped in surprise at the unexpected question.
“I don’t know. A hieral menace’s body doesn’t change,” Ripple demurred. “Why don’t you ask Miriela?”
“M-Me?!”
“Please, ma’am! I want to know!” Rafinha insisted.
“Well, um... I think...maybe they can?”
“Oh, wow! You mean you’ve actually tried it? Awesome! I’ve gained a lot of respect for you!”
“Y-You’re supposed to respect me to begin with!”
